Problem

The website isn't bringing in a lot of attention to consumers, leading to a lack of business in an online space.

The client approached me with this dilemma; ever since COVID-19, many businesses have shifted to online platforms which kept them busy during a shut-in era.

While the client did make a website initially, it wasn't attracting enough attention since they were already on food delivery services like Doordash and Uber Eats.

So with this in mind…

How might we…

Build a more engaging experience to drive customers for repeat visits and strengthen their loyalty?

Diving Into Research

I sat down with 10 target users to ask about the website's initial designs and what interested them/made them lose interest.

Based on the results, these were the main points that I found:

Solution

Welcome to the new Aladdin Mediterranean Cuisine Restaraunt

What's Changed?

Information Architecture

Since one of the biggest problems was about too much information, I shortened what was on the landing page to bring more orders to the restaurant.

Design System

To bring a more modern aesthetic to the website, I built a new design system with a color scheme approved by the client.

Moving Forward

With the project completed, I recommended the client that he conduct another usability test with different key users to see if the changes I made retained user attention and enticed them to explore more of the website. If a usability test is not possible, then I would suggest the client to check for the following usability metrics:

– How long are the users staying on the site overall?
– Are users exploring the other pages after landing on the home page?
